70-Mile Project Looking for Trail Names

Nominations Accepted Until August 15th

The 70-Mile Trail Project aims to construct at least seventy miles of new ATV/OHM trail in Aitkin and Itasca County. The project includes several trail segments that link to the Soo Line Trail.   The resulting trail system, including the existing trails as well as the new ones, will include nearly 500 miles of connected routes. This project includes the development of an extensive, first-rate ATV/OHV trail in Aitkin and Itasca Counties, Minnesota.  The trail is designed to be environmentally sensitive, economically beneficial, and community supported.

Names can be nominated for the overall trail system and the following Phase I trail segments:

1) Moose River Connector – linking the Moose River trail to the Soo Line

2) Lawler Loop – A loop trail located near Lawler

3) Solana Loop – A loop trail located in the Solana State Forest

4) Itasca County Trail – linking Pengilly and Warba
