Dovetail
Partners Establishes Green Building Credential
Alison
Lindburg Recognized as a LEED® Accredited Professional
Minneapolis,
Minn. (7/12/07) – Dovetail Partners has added LEED accreditation
to its resume. Alison Lindburg, Director of Dovetail’s Eco-Affordable
Housing Program, recently became a LEED® Accredited Professional
(LEED® AP).
“Having a LEED AP in-house is an important asset for Dovetail and
our partners,” says Kathryn Fernholz, Executive Director of Dovetail
Partners.
“There are at least 35 different green building programs in the
country, and we field questions about quite a few of them. With
this accreditation we can better answer questions related to the LEED
program and better help our partners achieve their green building goals,”
says Fernholz.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program is the
US Green Building Council’s green building rating system, and is
the referenced green building standard for many public and private interests
across the country.
LEED® Accredited Professionals receive accreditation by demonstrating
“a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles,
and intensive familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.”
To become a LEED® AP, applicants must pass an
extensive test.
“Like most people, I’m not a big fan of taking tests,”
says Lindburg. “But it offered an opportunity to dig into
the details and expand my understanding of the program. Now I can
help make the process less painful for others.”
By adding LEED accreditation, Dovetail can offer authenticated advice
and new insight into the green building process. Dovetail is now offering
project evaluation and LEED® AP services.
