Panelized Construction

Panelized construction makes use of wall, floor, ceiling or roof "panels" which are framed off-site and then delivered to the site by truck. Panels are lifted into place with a crane and fastened together on a foundation, which is prepared in advance.

Panel technologies offer several potential benefits including the opportunity to create labor efficiencies, reduce construction time, and improve the overall efficient use of materials. Panelized construction also results in less waste and on-site debris.

The construction company, Talor Building Systems, manufactured the prefabricated wall, floor, and roof panels for the Aitkin FSC Home at its Aurora, Minnesota location. The Mille Lacs Band Corporate Commission has invested in Talor with the future intent of helping create new sustainable living wage jobs for its band members and others in the Onamia/Mille Lacs/Hinckley region of Minnesota.
