Aitkin FSC Home Dovetail Partners, Inc. In-floor Radiant Heating
Hydronic
radiant in-floor heating systems consist of warm water circulating through
plastic tubing either embedded in a floor slab or attached to the underside
of the subflooring. Heat is absorbed by the water at the heat source,
conveyed through the distribution piping, and released into the space.
The thermal mass of the slab holds the heat and radiates it slowing into
the living space. Some of the advantages of this system include
even heating throughout the room, it is quiet, and a single system can
provide both space heating and hot water supplies. For more information about radiant heating, click here. (U.S. Dept. of Energy) To see the house plans, click here. Article about In-floor Heating in the Aitkin FSC Home: |
