Locherman Canyon Forest Ecology Outdoor Classroom
Located 2 miles NW of Chester, CA. Sponsored by Lassen National Forest and Feather River College. Forest ecology demonstration area for primary and secondary school students and educators. Part of Forest Ecology for Teachers 40 hour course offered for teachers credit and open to the general public. Course includes text book, The Dynamic Forest, containing ecological principles along with local history and application. The course is offered free of charge to participants.
