Dovetail Partners Welcomes Dr. Richard A. Levins of Levins Publishing as New Associate

Dr. Levins brings expertise in food system economics, farm management, and agricultural policy

(Minneapolis, MN) - Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental think tank, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Richard A. Levins as a new Associate within the organization. Dr. Levins brings with him expertise in the areas of food system economics, farm management and agricultural policy.

"Agriculture is changing in new and important ways," said Dr. Levins. "Water issues, pollinator protection, and global climate change are but a few of the reasons we need to reevaluate the direction our food system is taking. Dovetail Partners is an ideal place for me to help develop sustainable agricultural systems that match the needs of the 21st century."

Dr. Levins serves as Professor Emeritus of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota and is an award winning author of books about policy and economic issues affecting the food system and the general economy. His articles have appeared in major newspapers across the country, in leading industry publications, and in professional journals. After spending over 25 years in major universities advising adult learners on farm management issues and teaching economic principles, he left University life in 2003 and maintains an active practice in consulting, writing, and public speaking. Much of his work centers on agricultural policy and the economic and environmental benefits of organic and sustainable agriculture. He is also the founder of Levins Publishing.

"We are thrilled and honored to have Richard join the Dovetail team as an Associate and look forward to working with him closely to further establish and grow our strategic goal of influencing sustainable agriculture practices," said Kathryn Fernholz, Dovetail's Executive Director.
