Dovetail to Present January 20th Webinar on Updates to the FSC & SFI Forest Management Certification Standards

(Minneapolis, MN) - Kathryn Fernholz, Dovetail Partners' Executive Director, will be presenting a webinar on January 20th addressing updates to the FSC and SFI forest management certification standards. This presentation will address recent and anticipated updates to these two programs and potential impacts for certificate holders, certified forestlands and stakeholders.

"Global, third-party forest certification has been around a little more than 20 years - and a great deal of change has occurred during that time", states Fernholz. "The latest SFI standards revision process has resulted in important changes, and the FSC's process to develop International Generic Indicators continues to move forward - we'll talk about the latest information on both of these areas of activity."

Kathryn is a forester and has worked on forest certification and standards development for more than 15 years. She is an experienced FSC and SFI auditor and a qualified FSC lead auditor. Kathryn has audited private, public and tribal lands throughout the U.S. and has developed and managed group certification programs for family forest owners and small holders.

The January 2015 webinar is part of a series offered by the University of Minnesota Extension and the Sustainable Forests Education Cooperative. Webinar presentations are designed for natural resource professionals, landowners, forest sector stakeholders, and interested parties. Presentations are approved for continuing education credits from SAF, ISA, and MN Forest Stewardship.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday January 20th, 2015 from 12:00pm-1:00pm (CST).
