Environmental Education Opportunities Provide a Summer of Learning for Students and Teachers

Forestinfo.org resources keep students and teachers sharp during summer break

(Minneapolis, MN) - As the school year winds down Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental non-profit that supports science-based learning, urges educators, parents and students to make use of the environmental education resources available on Forestinfo.org to support a summer of learning. Forestinfo.org is hosted by Dovetail Partners as a one-stop educational hub for students and teachers.

"Forestinfo.org resources allow students, parents and teachers to continue learning about our natural environment all summer long," says Kathryn Fernholz, Executive Director of Dovetail Partners.

The site contains Lesson PlansTeachers' ToolsEco-LinksVideosForest Fast Breaks, a Forestry Careers Directory, and an Environmental Quiz that support understanding of environmental issues.

The site also contains listings of U.S. Forestry Teachers' Tours and Canada Forestry Teachers' Tours. Summer 2015 Teachers' Tour opportunities are now available. Tours provide hands-on educational opportunities for teachers looking to become immersed in the social, economic and ecological aspects of sustainable forestry. Teachers who attend tours are provided with information to take back to their classrooms, empowering students to make positive change.

"Teachers' Tours offer a priceless opportunity to learn about forests and the environment first hand," says Fernholz.
