Forest Fast Breaks Highlight Forest Ecology, Sustainable Management Practices and Related Benefits

(Mpls, MN) - Forestinfo.org, an environmental education website geared towards teachers, students, forestry professionals, and those with a general interest in protecting, managing, and enhancing the natural environment, is pleased to announce the release of its newest resource - Forest Fast Breaks.

 

Forest Fast Breaks are concise, engaging animated shorts that simplify complex forestry topics. The videos highlight forest ecology, sustainable forest management practices, and the environmental benefits of utilizing wood in consumer products and as a building material. Ten videos cover topics including carbon capture, clearcutting, forest fire, green building, forest management, photosynthesis, reforestation, sustainability, water and wood products.

 

"These new videos are a great tool for engaging students and for learning more about the wonderful world of forests," says Kathryn Fernholz, Executive Director of Dovetail Partners, the non-profit organization that hosts Forestinfo.org.

 

As students head back to school this fall, students, teachers and parents can make use of the Forest Fast Breaks and other environmental education resources available on Forestinfo.org. Additional resources include EcoLinks,award-winning films, brochures, curriculum, lesson plans, books, posters and hands-on activities.
