Join Dovetail Partners at the Wood-Science-Economy International Scientific Conference

Dr. Jim Bowyer to serve as keynote speaker 


(Minneapolis, MN) - Join Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental research think tank, on October 5th and 6th at the Wood-Science-Economy International Scientific Conference in Ponzan, Poland. Dr. Jim Bowyer, Dovetail's Director of Responsible Materials, will be the keynote speaker, presenting on "The U.S. Forest Products Industry: Past, Present and Future".


The conference, hosted by the Instytut Technologii Drewna (Wood Technology Institute) and Lasy Panstwowe (The State Forests), will examine a range of topics from forestry and wood sector innovation to environmental considerations in wood production and processing. The conference will allow for an international exchange of knowledge about the latest research findings from forestry, wood science and related fields, as well as the possibilities of their practical use in the forestry and wood sectors.


Dr. Bowyer is Professor Emeritus, University of Minnesota Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering, and an Elected Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science. He has published widely on the topics of wood and fiber science, bioenergy, life cycle assessment, green building standards, global raw material trends, and environmental policy and is a frequent speaker nationally and internationally on these topics.
