Sustainable Forestry Teachers' Tours Offer Exciting Opportunities for Educators in 2014

(Minneapolis, MN) - This summer educators will have the opportunity to head into the forest and receive hands on learning through sustainable forestry Teachers' Tours. The tours will provide teachers with information and experiences that can be passed on to students of all ages and inspire positive change.

"These tours offer a priceless opportunity to learn about forests and the environment first hand," says Kathryn Fernholz, Executive Director of Dovetail Partners, a Minneapolis-based environmental non-profit that supports science-based learning.

2014 Teachers' Tours are hosted by third-party forest-related public agencies, stewardship organizations and non-profits throughout North America, with locations including South Carolina, Idaho, Oregon, Florida, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Brunswick, Ontario and more. A list of tours and more details are available at Dovetail's environmental education website Forestinfo.org - www.forestinfo.org/forestry_tours.

"It is more important than ever to understand environmental science and nothing beats real-world experience for learning more about the world we live in," says Fernholz.
