2026 Fundraising Letter

17 August 2026

Dear Friends of Dovetail,

As we catch sight of our 25th anniversary on the horizon, one theme continues to guide our work: the extraordinary impact that emerges when people come together with curiosity, commitment, and a shared sense of purpose. Every day, we see how informed decision‑making and collaborative action strengthen communities and improve outcomes. At Dovetail Partners, our mission—to provide authoritative information about the impacts and tradeoffs of environmental decisions—is our  foundation.

This year, we are building on the momentum of our inaugural webinar series launched in 2025 and shaped by feedback from our Reader Survey. You told us what topics mattered most, and the resulting conversations were thoughtful, energizing, and hopeful—a reflection of the engaged, informed community that surrounds Dovetail. In 2026, we’ve been expanding this work with new topics, new partners, and new opportunities for learning.

Collaboration defines our approach. The Right‑of‑Way Stewardship Council is advancing responsible vegetation management and power system reliability through its accreditation program. The Women’s Forest Congress is strengthening leadership and innovation throughout the forest and wood products sector, helping shape strategies for the future. Our Forest to Tap initiative is reaching new communities in Northern Minnesota, deepening the connection between healthy forests and clean water.

Our Fire Adapted Communities work continues to support landowners, fire departments, and local leaders across the Arrowhead and meet the challenge of this year’s wildfire season. Working with partners for more than a decade, we have provided Firewise demonstrations, chainsaw safety classes, and community wildfire preparedness planning to reduce risk and build resilience. In the coming years, we will deepen this work to ensure more communities have access to the tools and knowledge they need.

Every gift to Dovetail Partners grows work that is grounded in science, shaped by collaboration, and focused on practical solutions. Your support produces accessible, high‑quality information; strengthens communities; advances responsible materials and bioeconomy strategies; elevates diverse leadership; and builds bridges between science, policy, industry, and local needs.

You ensure that we remain a trusted, expert voice helping communities and partners make informed, balanced environmental decisions.

We invite you to continue this relationship. Your generosity means Dovetail will always listen closely, empower with expertise, and help communities and partners find inspiring and successful pathways forward.

Your support helps us:

  • Produce accessible, high‑quality information for decision‑makers
  • Facilitate community wildfire preparedness and resilience
  • Advance responsible materials and bioeconomy strategies
  • Support landowners, companies, and communities navigating complex environmental decisions
  • Elevate expertise in forest‑related leadership
